Student Ambassador

We are seeking applications for Student Ambassadors on a casual flexible role to provide support to the Future Students Unit at a range of online, face-to-face and social media content creation. Successful candidates must be current UTS College students, or UTS College alumni still studying at UTS. This includes students that have studied with one of our UTS College International partners.

This role is based in Sydney. Typically shifts will be within standard business hours, however, at times events will be held on evenings or weekends.

About the Role

  • Sharing your story to prospective students and parents through events, campus tours, social media, panels, etc.
  • Lead campus tours for parents, prospective students and education agents, and on occasion run workshops.
  • Opportunity to create social media content independently or in a team. This includes video, written articles, images etc.
  • Responding to student conversations/queries during events and social media shifts.
  • Lead activities during events, such as manning registration desks, set-up and pack-down, and managing stock levels of marketing collateral.
  • Help foster an inclusive and approachable environment by providing clear communication and support across events and social media shifts

 

About You

To succeed in this role you must be/have:

  • Must be a current UTS College student or UTS College alumni still studying at UTS. This includes students that have studied with one of our UTS College International partners.
  • Be based in Sydney, Australia.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for university life and the educational experience at UTS and UTS College. 
  • Confident in storytelling and sharing your story to help other prospective students. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact confidently with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders including students, teachers, UTS College staff and alumni. 
  • An understanding of social media and preferably experience creating short form video content.
  • Good time management skills - can deliver to agreed content deadlines. 
  • Proven initiative and ability to complete tasks independently with little guidance.  
  • A 'can-do' positive attitude and enthusiasm in helping students.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekend shifts.
  • Must be available for several events in the UTS College event calendar, including; Info Days/Nights, UTS Open Day and Welcome Week.

Desirable Areas

  • Involvement in university extracurricular activities, such as being a member of a UTS club or society, volunteer program, or startup initiative.
  • Confident conversing on camera with strong interviewing and communication skills; experience editing videos and using video editing software; have your own TikTok, YouTube, Douyin, or Little Red Book account and regularly create your own videos (don’t forget to include links to your profiles).
