Business Analyst

We currently have the opportunity for a Business Analyst to join the IT and Digital Services team on a 12-month fixed term contract, reporting to the Systems and Business Analysis Team Leader.
About the Role
This position is responsible for:
- Gathering and documenting business requirements and develop user stories or requirements within agreed timeframes
- Using business requirements or user stories to create technical specifications with technical specialists
- Contributing to and maintaining standard and guidelines for business process improvement and business analysis techniques for UTS College
- Using various business analysis tools and methodologies to map and understand business processes
- Liaising between business stakeholders, Solution Architects, IT teams, and vendors to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Facilitating meetings and workshops to gather input, validate requirements, and maintain engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinating test strategies and perform testing and validation activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure solutions meet specified requirements.
- Providing support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely issue resolution, testing and change management and requirements traceability
- Creating process maps with business stakeholders through effective relationships
- Preparing and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, system specifications, and user guides.
About You
To succeed in this role you will need:
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 4 -6 years of experience in Business Analysis
- Experience with data and reporting projects, finance system implementation projects and system integration tools.
- High capability to document business requirements and develop business process maps
- Problem-solving skills and experience with using structured problem-solving techniques
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, influence decision-making, and manage expectations at multiple organisational levels.
- Experience with project management delivery tools like Jira, confluence. Creating requirements, user stories, test cases and dependencies and experience in agile ways of working
- Demonstrated understanding of, or certification in business analysis frameworks like CBAP is preferable
- Knowledge of Change Management approaches such as ADKAR
- Higher education and /or student lifecycle experience preferred
