We are seeking an experienced and passionate Program Manager to lead the Business Diploma on a permanent basis.
About the role
As the Program Manager – Business at UTS College, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering and enhancing courses that inspire and challenge diverse cohorts of students. A role that will provide you with the opportunity to lead a strong academic team and elevate the quality of educational experiences in a dynamic environment.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a balance of strategic thinking, operational oversight, and academic leadership, someone who is passionate about continuing to elevate both the student experience and the academic rigor of our business programs.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and implement current best practice and innovations in pathway learning and teaching in the program
- Maintain and advise on subject and course quality, and the resources required for their successful delivery
- Analyse and review student performance and quality indicators, and implement continuous improvements
- Ensure the principles of the UTS College model of learning (Learning Connected) are embedded and maintained within the program
- Collaborate with Education Managers to develop the planned approach to embedding the Academic Coordinator model, to ensure clear expectations outlined and consistency and fairness across the programs
- Embed the newly reviewed workload model for Academic Coordinators
- Manage staffing within the program, including the allocation of sessional staff in the timetable to increase quality of teaching and efficiencies
- Work alongside Education Managers and external consultants to uplift skills in quality teaching practices across the program
- Develop and built upon relationships with key stakeholders, including counterparts at UTS to:
- Collaborate on approach to transnational partnerships (SILC)
- Better understand the future direction of the course and opportunities for improving the diploma offerings
- Develop the approach to assisting in monitoring course quality and value to UTS.
- Ensure the effective delivery of the program and maintaining quality relationships with transnational education (TNE) partners
- Review of student engagement activities and approach (Welcome Week) in collaboration with Education Managers, and in line with the Lizzio model
- Support the implementation of the yearly Academic Board and Education Plan
- Participate and contribute to academic governance, including membership on two sub committees plus Academic Board when required.
- Support the delivery of the Business Program’s courses in all campuses to ensure they meet the College’s quality standards and align to the higher education standards.
- Ensure the principles of the UTS College model of learning are embedded and maintained within their program.
- Ensure appropriate learning support for students is provided by all teachers and recorded
- Contribute to the Education Department and UTS College more broadly through continuous improvement and innovation to course design, curriculum, and student outcomes.
About you
To succeed in this role you must have:
- Qualifications in a Business-related field (post-graduate qualifications preferred)
- Other relevant qualifications in learning and teaching, leadership or a related field
- Recent industry experience in a Business-related field
- Experience managing programs within higher education or pathway education, ideally in a transnational and multi‑campus context (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to lead academic teams, including coaching, performance management, and fostering accountability
- Strong knowledge of best practice in pathway education, transnational education, and higher education pedagogy
- Demonstrated ability to analyse student performance and quality indicators, interpret data, and implement continuous improvements
- Strong understanding of quality higher education delivery, TEQSA standards, and academic compliance frameworks
- Advanced negotiation skills to influence stakeholders, manage change, and resolve academic concerns.
- Ability to engage in open conversations about performance, goals, and teaching quality within academic teams
- Demonstrated resilience and optimism during organisational change, with the ability to support others through uncertainty
- High emotional intelligence, with the ability to recognise and regulate emotions and maintain professionalism
