About Us
At UTS College, we solve complex problems with smart, scalable solutions. As a technology-driven organisation, we're looking for a Solutions Architect with deep engineering experience to design and deliver robust, efficient systems that meet our growing business needs.

This role is ideal for someone who can think strategically but still enjoys diving deep into the technical details—someone who can architect at scale, yet code when needed.

This is a permanent full time position.

Role Overview
As a Solutions Architect, you’ll act as the technical bridge between business goals and engineering execution. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to architect, design, and guide the implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions. Your solid engineering background will be key in understanding the impact of design decisions and in mentoring technical teams through complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to design high performing end-to-end solutions that meet business, technical, and security requirements
  • Collaborate with IT engineering teams to ensure alignment with architectural principles and best practices
  • Provide hands-on guidance during solution development and implementation phases
  • Evaluate and select technologies, tools, and platforms suited to meet business requirements and project needs
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs
  • Lead technical discussions and provide architecture reviews across projects
  • Champion engineering excellence, code quality, and architectural integrity
  • Produce and maintain high-quality architectural documentation and diagrams and ensure appropriate documentation is created and made available to support teams

What We're Looking For

  • Strong engineering background—preferably in software, systems, or cloud engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in technical architecture or senior engineering roles
  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade solutions
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C#)
  • Experience with microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with security best practices, scalability strategies, and performance optimisation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in a Solutions Architect role
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP architecture, TOGAF
  • A strong understanding of data lifecycle and data warehousing technologies
  • Exposure to containerisation (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of DevOps and SRE principles
  • Experience working in Agile environments

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance incentives
  • Hybrid or remote working flexibility
  • Opportunities to work on challenging, high-impact projects
  • A collaborative team that values engineering depth and innovation
  • Ongoing professional development and training support

If you’re an engineer at heart and an architect by trade, we’d love to hear from you.
